Abstract
The article examines the history and activities of the Tashkent school of physical anthropology which made significant contributions to the study of ethnic origins and ethnic history of Central Asian peoples. The authors discuss the part that the school played in the exploration of important scholarly issues concerning the racial and ethnic composition of peoples inhabiting the Central Asian region.
