Abstract
Reacting to the official prohibition and attempts to block Telegram (a popular messenger application), user groups invent new forms of symbolic or direct protest offline and online to build and maintain solidarity of the users and recruit additional supporters. In this article, I show how, through these pro test performative practices (from transmitting jokes in social media to rallies and hacker activities), the users demonstrate their idea of their own agency and of the limits of their “virtual body”.
