The examination sheds light upon various peculiarities of the identity construction process in virtual reality. The first part of the article deals with the form and content of qualitative data in virtual environment; the second part discusses the identity construction process in the digital world; while the final part focuses on the use of narrative analysis methods and their specificities in research on identity in the framework of virtual ethnography.
