Abstract
Scientific objects are not static – they can emerge, transform and disappear from the scientific horizon. The author discusses a relatively new epistemic object, movement culture. It appeared in the early twentieth century against the background of an increasing engagement with various kinds of movements, such as the campaign for scientific organisation of labour, new technologies, developments in gymnastics, dance, sport, and the avant-garde art.
