Abstract

The article examines the concepts of “local culture” and “local tradition” to identify the causes and mechanisms of their formation and transformation, as well as the role of personality factors in these processes. The author traces the specificities in the emergence and functioning of local differences in territorial units such as village, small town, and city. Attention is paid to the delimitation of the concepts of “individual and personality factors in the shaping of tradition” and “personal/individual tradition”
