Abstract
The article written for the 80th anniversary of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology, Russian Academy of Sciences, presents a survey of academic and organizational activities at the institute in 2008-2012. Attention is drawn to the main directions of work and major achievements that have helped the institute to retain the status of Russia’s leading research center in the areas of ethnology, social-cultural, and physical anthropology.
