A Survey of the Present State of Epic Tradition among the Shors (Particular Materials and General Problems)

Abstract

The article discusses theoretical issues of cultural traditions / traditions in culture. Drawing on own observations of the Shors (a Turkic people in the South of Western Siberia) epic traditions for the past three decades, the author examines the phenomenon of the latter in culture and the notions about the transmission of tradition from one generation to another.
