Real and New Khanty/Mansi: On Factors of Ethnic-Cultural Stability

Abstract

The article discusses issues related to stability and changeability of the present-day culture of Ob-Ugrians (Khanty and Mansi) as projected onto their ethnicity and ethnic identity. Special attention is paid to the question of the preservation of traditions in the context of social differentiation among these peoples.
