Abstract

Drawn on the field research data and other sources, the article is an attempt at exploring the process of revival of the tradition of sacrificial bull slaying during the Prollaver celebration in the village of Bolshaia Kocha, the Perm region. The author analyzes the function and part that the rite is called upon to play under the condition of the present.
