Abstract
The article is devoted to the issue of British imperial policy in relation to the Chinese Diaspora in the East and South-East Asia and in Australia in the second half of the 19th century. The author holds that the British politics and experts created an effective model of relations with Chinese communities in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia. The partnership of the British and the Chinese was founded on the mutual interests in the mastering and development of various resources of British colonies.
