Abstract
The article introduces the special theme of the journal’s issue on “Disability in the Russian Culture”. The guest editor, E. Nosenko-Stein, briefly outlines the main terms and approaches employed in disability studies, including those used in ethnic studies, and stresses the necessity of promoting research on disability within the framework of ethnology and social/cultural anthropology. The special section of the issue presents contributions by E. Nosenko-Stein, V. Dobrovolskaya, A. Kurlenkova, L. Torlopova, and A. Frolova.
