Scholarly interests: evolutionary anthropology (human adaptation, sexual dimorphism and reproductive strategies), human ethology (biosocial bases of aggression and post-conflict behavior among humans and primates, cooperation and altruism, choice of sex partner), African studies (hunters-gatherers and cattle herders of the East Africa). Member of the International Society for Research on Aggression, International Society for Human Ethology, and European Anthropological Association. Author over 300 works including 8 books.
